MRes
During the MRes year of my Integrated PhD, I have taken the following units:
- Year-long:
- MA50246: Student-Led Symposia and Integrative Think Tanks
- MA50264: Inter-disciplinary Research Project
- Semester 1:
- MA50178: Numerical Linear Algebra
- MA50247: Bayesian and Large Scale Methods
- MA50183: Specialist Reading Course (with Dr. Kit Yates)
- Semester 2:
- MA50251: Applied Stochastic Differential Equations
- MA50263: Mathematics of Machine Learning
- MA50215: Specialist Reading Course (with Dr. Matt Nunes)
As regards the Inter-disciplinary Research Project, I have explored the role of air pollution as a driver of influenza and other respiratory infections. Being a group project, we have tackled this study with different approaches. Mine involved spatial statistics with data recorded at different scales, namely pollution point stations and regional influenza counts. The project was supervised by Dr. Ben Adams, Prof. Julian Faraway and Dr. Theresa Smith.
