My main research project at the moment is a monograph with the title Theoretical Foundations of Banking which will give an extensive overview of theoretical models of bank behaviour. The coverage will include the role of banks, deposit taking, loan provisions, bank competition, bank fragility and systemic risk, bank regulation, and employment practices in banks.

I am also considering an agent-based model of the deposit market where the decision to withdraw deposits from a bank is based on consumption decisions as well as an assessment on the safety of a bank. This assessment will be based on fundamental factors as well as non-market interactions with other depositors. The aim is to investigate how depositor behaviour can contribute to a crisis of the banking system.
