Is
it expensive?
Skydiving isn’t a cheap sport but is a lot cheaper than most
people imagine. While the training can be expensive, once you have
your A Licence each jump costs between £15 and £20 for
a jump from 12,000-15,000 feet – 50-60 seconds of freefall.
How
much will it cost?
There are 3 ways to get into skydiving, which is best for you depends
on what you want to get from skydiving and what your budget is.
The University Skydiving Club currently has a great deal from our
local dropzone for Static Line courses – one of the most common
ways to start your skydiving career. To do a Static Line first jump
course costs £150 with the club (usually £180-£200
elsewhere). After your initial training and first jump each subsequent
jump will cost £20 (elsewhere around £35).
AFF or Accelerated Freefall courses will cost somewhere in the region
of £1000, depending on where you do it, for the eight levels
and 10 consolidation jumps. If you want to do AFF it can be a good
idea to go to Spain or the USA to do it, as it is cheaper and the
weather is usually much better!
A tandem jump will cost you £210 and an extra £90 if
you want a freefall camera man to jump with you to record the look
on your face!
