About Me
I was born and raised in Bath and went to Southdown Infants and Juniors and then on to Culverhay right back when it was based at 3 sites.
My working life started with my dad. He was a self-employed painter and decorator so when no obvious options presented itself, I started working with him through the government YTS scheme. I got my City and Guilds over the following few years.
But then I wanted change and got a job at Prontaprint as a litho-print operator. This was long before all offices had on-demand printers.
I married Judith in 1993 and had a beautiful daughter and we lived in a rented house in Brislington. When our second daughter came along in 1996, we moved to Midsomer Norton where I because a full time house husband and Judith worked. It was golden years spending fantastic time with the kids and helping out at their primary school. I was their lollipop man (Regional winner in 2002), designed them a web-site and was a ‘dinner-lady’.
In 2006, we were fortunate enough to be able to buy our first home. We up-sticks and moved to Chippenham and I got a job as House Maintenance for a charity. I picked up a great deal of DIY knowledge and worked there for 12 years.
2018 was a busy year. Judith got a job at the university. Our youngest got married in April. We celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary in May. Our eldest got married in September and I got the job here at the university late September.
