Research Large Area Field Emission Displays Field emitters based on the wide band gap materials and applied to the substrates using printing techniques will be used to fabricate the field emission displays. The materials optimization and the study of the emission mechanisms will be the main aims in order to facilitate the fabrication a low threshold turn on voltage, high current density flat panel displays. Materials studied include carbon nanotubes, nanogrit diamond, DLC, metal oxides/borides etc. The project is jointly funded by EPSRC and DTI in close collaboration with Smiths Aerospace Industries, Brimar and Bristol University.
