4th December	Cancelled	Cancelled	LASSO (not Cattle Ranching): Christoph will be giving us an introduction to LASSO problems. These techniques are one approach to NPL's source identification problem. Due to a change in circumstance, this session is cancelled.
11th December	Cancelled	Inverse Problems: Dr Melina Freitag will be giving a talk on Inverse Problems, covering 4DVar and Kalman filtering.	Will and Teo are concocting an idea Watch this space... Cohort 4 should attend regardless

National Physical Laboratory Visit Shedule

National Physical Laboratory visited us on the 1st of November. Resources from the presentation of the problems can be found on the SLS website.

12:15-13:05 1W2.102: Informal Lunch with representatives from NPL. Refreshments will be provided.
13:15-14:15 CB3.5: Presentation of the first set of industrial problems; plus a general introduction to NPL. Each problem will be followed by a short discussion.
14:15-14:45 CB3.5: (FREE!) Coffee break.
14:45-15:45 CB3.5: Presentation of the remaining problems, followed again by discussion.
15:45-16:00 CB3.5: Time for general questions. This may turn into contingency time on the day.
