I joined the University of Bristol in 2005 as a PhD student with Charl Faul. The subject for my PhD research work was ionic self-assembly.
I completed my PhD in 2009 and joined Jason Mansell at the department of Oral and Dental Sciences in the University as a Postdoctoral research assistant. The subject for this research was coating titanium with Lysophospatidic Acid (LPA) with the intention to promote osseointegration of implants into the body. I completed this post in 2010.
Due to the economic downturn and a need to stay in the local area, I then commenced a temporary maternity cover position as administrator for the Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) West Hub.
After this post I still couldn't find a suitable post and worked as Research Study Administrator for the Active for Life Year 5 (AFLY5) study for nearly two years.
I then returned to academia by taking a research assistant post at Bath University, working in the Chemistry department on a two year contract. I worked with Professor Gareth Price researching ultrasonic probes and biofilms
