The Centre for Photonics and Photonic Materials is an international environment which is home to researchers from across the world. We have a regular stream of visiting researchers, many staying for a year or more, who come from established academic positions elsewhere. They contribute to the Centre by bringing their own knowledge to mix with that of others. Many are funded by their government, which makes it relatively easy for them to come.

 

Here, they mix with the other members of the Centre. Some choose to pursue their own interests, but many join one of our established research programmes.

 

In general, I do not host visiting PhD students (except of course for short visits), and never offer internships for undergraduates.
