Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Pharmaceutics (Oct 2005 to Apr 2016) - Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath

Research focus on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and drug delivery, in particular applying synthetic chemistry strategies for the modification of biomaterials in order to control the biological response of cells, and the use of naturally occurring biomaterials for drug delivery and cell growth.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Apr 2000 to Sep 2005) - Tissue Engineering Group, School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham

Researcher in the group of Prof Kevin Shakesheff, in collaboration with Prof Dave Kendall and Prof Barrie Kellam:

Apr 2000 to Mar 2003: Site-Specific Neuromuscular Junction Formation via Biomimetic Engineering (BBSRC)

Apr 2003 to Dec 2003: Non-Viral Gene Delivery Systems for Bone Tissue Engineering (BBSRC)

Jan 2004 to Sep 2005 : Instant Tissues: Self-Assembly of Complex Cell Aggregates Through Chemical Cross-Linking (ESPRC Adventure Fund, named researcher)

PhD (Oct 1996 to Sep 1999) - School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham - e-Thesis

Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of a variety of aryl ethanolamides and phophinic acids as potential modulators of endocannabinoid signalling. Resulted in the development of a novel assay to detect fatty acid amide hydrolase activity.

BSc (Hons) Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry (Oct 1992 to Jun 1995) - Department of Biochemistry and Department of Chemistry, University of Nottingham.
