Welcome! I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Machine learning and Data Science in the Department of Computer Science, University of Bath.

Research interests & expertise

  • Bayesian Inference / Uncertainty Quantification
  • Statistical Signal Processing
  • Machine Learning / Deep Learning
  • Monte Carlo Numerical Methods
  • Interdisciplinary Applications

Biography

Prior to joining Bath, I was a researcher in statistical machine learning working in both the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge University and Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam. I completed my Ph.D. in Bayesian inference and statistical signal processing at the SigProC Lab, Cambridge University. I grew up in a beautiful small island Xiamen (Amoy) located in Southeast China facing Taiwan Strait of the Pacific Ocean. It is part of a broader region speaking local dialect Hokkien, and famous for its seafood dishes (e.g. Oyster Omelette and Fish Ball).
