About me

Me at a gauging station on river Kent at Bowston.

I started a PhD in the University of Bath in October 2019 as a member of the sixth cohort in EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics.

I completed a master degree in Physics in the University of Warsaw in 2018. My bachelor and master thesis were focused on computational fluid dynamics applied to model the river network growth and the pyrolysis process, respectively.

I have a wide experience in mathematical modelling and I am regularly invoved in collaborative research projects with the industry (see "Recent research"). In the PhD project, which originated from the collaboration between our departament and the Environmental Agency, I am developing a mathematical framework, which allows to compare different river basin and flood estimation models (see "PhD: Flood modelling").

Before joining the Univerisity of Bath, since 2013 I was a member of CIAMSE research team in the Polish Academy of Sciences. Our work focused on research projects in the field of industrial mathematics for companies representing various branches of the industry.

In years 2015-2019 I was also teaching Physics in the IB Diploma Programme in 2SLO high school in Warsaw. I actively promote science among youth on various educational programmes and events (see "Promoting science"). Apart from science, I enjoy swimming, sailing and other water sports.

Areas of interest

I enjoy various aspects of mathematical modelling and in particular:

  • Industrial mathematics
  • Fluid dynamics
  • Computational modelling
