Citi Bike NYC Trip History Interactive Map

Where are Citi Bikers riding to in New York City? What are the most popular stations, and therefore where is more or less capacity needed? By taking open source Citi Bike System Data provided by Citi Bike NYC, this visualisation shows all departures and arrival of bikes across March 2021.

This visualisation tool can be used by local authorities, urban planners and transport engineers to evaluate how citizens are moving across New York City each month and help to inform future development schemes, as well as measure the uptake of green transport schemes.

To use this tool:

• Play or Pause the animation to stop or start the time.
• Fast Forward the animation by x60, x1800 or x3600 speed.
• Slow Down the animation to undo increased speed.
• Stop the animation to reset to the start of the month.
• Click on a station to track it, or hover to see how many bikes are at a station at a glance.
