Course Content: 
The course will cover a mixture of the following topics related to wave propagation in fluids and methods to analyse them:
1. Free Surface Waves - Linear Theory, Wavepackets and Stationary Phase Analysis. Weakly Nonlinear Theory, Multiple Timescale Analysis and the Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation, Resonances, Reduced Models for Water Waves, and Solitary Waves.
2. Shallow Water Waves - Shallow Water Equations, Breaking Waves, Korteweg-de Vries and related models, Solitary Waves.
3. Waves in Stratified Flows - Layered Flows, Continuous Stratifications, Stability Theory, Breaking Waves and Mixing.
As time permits: Wave Turbulence Resonant Networks and Closures.
