A heat equation approach to some nonlinear problems in conformal CR geometry

In this talk I will present an approach, based on the heat equation and some of its variants, to various formulas arising in conformal CR geometry. These formulas play a pivotal role in inverting the relevant nonlocal operators as well as in constructing explicit solutions of the fractional CR Yamabe problem. Effort will be made to provide a self-contained non-technical overview. This is joint work with G. Tralli.
