Applications are invited for a permanent Lectureship within the Statistics Group from 1 August 2006.

The successful applicant will contribute to research and teaching activities in Statistics and Probability. The group obtained a Grade 5 in each of the 1992, 1996 and 2001 Research Assessment Exercises. The Department also recently obtained a maximum 24 in the Subject Review of Mathematics teaching.

The Statistics Group currently comprises the following academic staff:

Dr N Augustin, Mr ME Brigden, Dr C Chatfield, Dr SC Harris, Prof DG Hobson, Dr MA Hurn, Prof C Jennison (Dean of Science), Dr P Moerters, Prof MD Penrose (Head of Statistics), Dr A Robinson, Dr R Salway, Dr G Shaddick, Dr S Shaw, Dr N Sidorova , Dr AW Wade and Prof S Wood.

Candidates should have a strong research record in any area within Statistics or Probability.

Salary in the range £28,829 to £36,959 (Lecturer Grade B)
