General information

The aim of this course is to give an introduction to some modern tools to study partial differential equations (PDEs). The philosophy of the course is to introduce methods, rather than focus on classes of equations. Consequently, the plan is to give an introduction (possibly less advance than the name of the course suggests) to a set of powerful tools in PDEs. This semester we will focus on methods of weak convergence and cover examples from the calculus of variations. Topics we want to discuss include direct methods, concentration compactness and mountain pass arguments.
