Professor Kevin Edge FREng
Kevin Edge is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Bath.
Immediately prior to his retirement in May 2015, he held the position of
Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
He is an Honorary Fellow of the Centre
for Power Transmission and Motion Control (PTMC).
He was employed at Rolls Royce for several years as a Senior Control
Systems Engineer before joining the University of Bath in 1976.
Kevin
is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institution of
Mechanical Engineers and former Chair of the Institution's Mechatronics
Informatics and Control Group. He has published extensively on various
aspects of fluid power systems and their control and has been awarded a number
of I.Mech.E prizes for Proceedings papers, and also,
in 1991, the Bramah Medal. He has been involved
in both National and International Standards committee work relating to fluid
power.
For
many years he co-edited the Proceedings of the annual Bath Symposium on
Power Transmission and Motion Control [formerly
known as the Bath Workshop on Power Transmission and Motion Control and, prior
to that, the Bath International Fluid Power Workshop].
His
research background is in the field of fluid power systems and their control.
His research interests include: Positive Displacement Pumps; Fluid-borne and
Air-borne Noise; Hydraulic servomechanisms; Hydraulic valve performance;
Failure Mode & Effects Analysis & Fault Diagnosis.
