Applying for HPC access

If you are a SAMBa student (including SAMBa aligned) or a member of staff working on SAMBa related research, please use this web page to apply for access to the University's HPC system "nimbus".

Guidance notes

The application forms below can be used to apply for access to the University's HPC system "nimbus". To get an initial allocation of compute units, all you need to do is fill out a short google form which captures your requirements. If you want to make more use of nimbus, you can request additional resources with the application forms provided below. The maximal amount of resources you can apply for is described below. You should always discuss your application with your supervisor, who will also have to provide a brief support statement in case you apply for a "Heavy Compute" allocation. The details you provide on the forms help us to support your use of nimbus, so please be as specific as possible when answering the questions. More information on nimbus can be found at here. For any questions, contact Eike Mueller at e.mueller@bath.ac.uk
