I am a mathematical biologist and, currently, a Research Associate at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Bristol working with Dr Nathalie Stroeymeyt on ants and social immunity. I completed my PhD in Mathematics at the University of Bath supervised by Dr Kit Yates and Prof Tim Rogers on collective cell behaviour.


I am fascinated by all sort of biological phenomena in which an organised structure emerges from a collection of simple individuals. The main focus of my research is in understanding how complex living systems appear, how they evolve and whether is possible to find some universal principles which determine their organisation.
I am particularly interested in multicellular development, collective motion and ant colonies which I consider the most incredible living system.
