-- KNOWN ISSUES ----------------------------

When connected to a SPAN-SE receiver:
   - Logging BESTPOS log is restricted to 1Hz and 5Hz.
   - Logging BESTPOS at 5Hz will increase refresh rate of position window;
   - Folders are not properly supported in the NovAtel Explorer;
   - No support for configuring ports to RS422 mode;
   - Changing Ethernet protocol (UDP/TCP) requires a reset of the receiver;
   - Entering an invalid IP address for TCP connection will make CDU less 
     responsive as it attempts to connect to the receiver.
   - INS_OMNISTAR_HP solution type not properly recognized by CDU.
   - Performance degradation when downloading files through USB using the NovAtel Explorer window.

-- UPDATES -----------------------------------

The software and documentation provided on 
this CD are the most recent available at the 
time of production.  However, updates may occur 
in the future.  Check for updated material in the 
Documentation Updates section of www.novatel.com.


-- INSTALLATION --------------------------

The setup program installs the NovAtel CDU, 
Convert and DL4Tool utilities. The installation copies 
the executables to the hard disk of your machine, 
creates a shortcut to the applications, copies the DLLs 
to the windows system disk, installs the necessary 
bits for the Borland Database Engine.

** IMPORTANT *****************************
Close any applications that may be using the Borland 
Database Engine while doing the install, otherwise the 
alias for the Convert Database may not get updated.

The setup program should be automatically accessible 
when the CD is inserted.  If not, use Explorer 
to view the contents of the CD drive and double-click
on the Setup.exe application, which is found at the 
top level of the CD. 


-- PC UTILITIES ---------------------------

Three NovAtel GPS PC utilities are included on this 
CD and installed by the setup program.  

NovAtel CDU is a Windows program that provides a 
graphical user interface for configuration and 
monitoring of the receiver operation.  

CONVERT is a Windows program that allows you to 
convert GPS format data to ASCII, binary, or RINEX 
formats.  The OEMV Family Installation and Operation User 
Manuals provides information on this utility.

DL4TOOL is a Windows program for use with the 
DL-4plus (an OEM4 product).  It assists with editing and 
uploading of schedules and log groups and downloading 
data from the DL-4plus to your PC.  This program is explained 
in the DL-4plus User Manual. 

-- SAMPLE SOURCE CODE ---------------------

Sample source code has been provided to assist you 
in developing software to work with the OEMV family 
of receivers.  It includes functions for parsing 
logs.  The applicable files are included in the 
"Sample Source" folder.
 

-- PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION --------------

A variety of product documentation, including user 
manuals, is included on this CD in PDF format.  They are 
located in the "User Manuals" folder of the CD.

The OEMV Family Installation and Operation User Manual 
provides information on installing and operating OEMV, 
DL-V3, ProPak, SMART-V1 and FlexPak receivers.  It also 
includes technical specifications on these products.

The OEMV Family Firmware Reference Manual provides 
details on the commands and logs supported 
by OEMV-family products, including OEMV-1-, OEMV-1G-, 
OEMV-2- and OEMV-3-based receivers.

Paper copies of these manuals are available on request 
from NovAtel.  Please contact Customer Service for more 
information.  The contact information is provided at the 
end of this file.

In order to view the manuals, you will need Adobe 
Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.  If you do 
not have the Reader installed, it has been included on the 
CD in the "Adobe Acrobat Reader" subfolder within the 
"User Manuals" folder.  Simply run the setup 
executable to install Acrobat Reader or visit www.adobe.com.
