PROFILE

Lucy O'Shea holds a BA (Hons) Economics (Trinity College Dublin), M.Litt. Economics (Trinity College Dublin) and MSc. Environmental Science (Trinity College Dublin) and PhD. Economics (University of Southampton). Her doctoral thesis focused on economic aspects of biotechnology and non-point source pollution. She has also held posts at University of Birmingham (1996 - 1998) and the University of Reading where she was engaged as a research officer for an EU-funded project on nitrate pollution (2000 - 2002).

She is currently responsible for delivering Intermediate Microeconomics (EC20010) and Environmental Economics (EC30029) units to second and third year undergraduates, respectively. In addition, she also lectures on Environmental Economics (EC50126) to the MSc. Economics students. 

Currently, Lucy's main research is in the area of non-point source pollution and the design of appropriate policies. She is also interested in R&D and its link to environmental issues.
