Saffron completed her PhD at The University of Sydney (Australia), where her project focused on self-assembled structures in non-aqueous solvents (aka: can life evolve without water?). She moved to the UK to join the ERG in 2019, where she worked on interpenetrating starch-cellulose hydrogels as part of the Gelenz project.

When not in the lab, Saffron enjoys reading, writing, painting and travelling.
