Jake joined the group in October 2018 to pursue doctoral studies in Polymerisation, Encapsulation and Self-Assembly in Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) and is supervised by Professor Karen Edler, Professor Gareth Price and Dr Antoine Buchard.

Previously, Jake studied MSci Chemistry with a Year in Industry at Imperial College London, spending one year working with the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach an der Riß, Germany. Jake then decided to expand his horizons by studying for a Master’s degree in the Chemistry and Physics of Soft Materials, at the Adolphe Merkle Institute (University of Fribourg) in Switzerland, before moving to Bath to begin this new project.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys playing the violin, singing, skiing (when possible!) and getting out and about in the great outdoors.
