Have you ever felt that the volume was too loud in the cinema? That is what happens when Ceci is around, but it is actually one of the best movies you could have seen.

Cecilia was born in Gubbio (Italy) and as an excellent chef, she decided to study for a degree in Chemistry in Perugia. Afterwards she moved to the UK in order to extend her excellent cooking skills, synthesize some polymers and cheer us up everyday. Cecilia’s project deals with the development of polymer stabilised lipid nanodiscs. This is one way that a membrane protein can be extracted and preserved in a native environment out of the cell.

Her work is overseen by Prof. Karen Edler, Dr Tom Arnold (Diamond Light Source), and Dr Ann Terry.

She unconditionally loves scattering and writing proposals has become her favourite activity in a Sunday afternoon.

Since leaving Bath with her PhD, she has taken up a job at BBI Solutions near Cardiff.
