URB meets Amber Run

On Tuesday night two very excited URBers headed over to Bristol to check out the Communion New Faces Tour. We were lucky enough to have a chat with the guys in their dressing room before the show and find out all about their debut album, what it was like to play Brixton Academy and why they will never be rock and roll!

By Alex Kember and Kirstin Traynor

“Don’t be polite” commanded Joe Keogh as five piece band Amber Run hit the half-way point in their headline set at The Louisiana in Bristol with ‘Heaven’. After a more mellow start to their performance, including songs such as ‘I found’ (Kirstin’s fave), this upbeat track was a well-timed change of pace and the crowd really seemed to react as they began to sway and bob with increasing vigour. The uplifting lyrics of ‘The Spark’ topped the night off and left the crown buzzing with chatter and glee as they ambled out onto the street.
