About Us

The URB IT team looks after all of the computers that keep URB running. From surfing to streaming, playout to production our computers (there was ~20 when we last checked) keep URB on air, keep an eye on the presenters and make sure the place generally keeps working properly.

We also look after 'URB Nonstop' which keeps the station running when no presenters are on air.

If you know anything about linux, mysql, hardware, software - or to be honest know what a computer is we'll get you trained up and working with our systems to make sure everything runs smoothly.

How to get involved

Drop me an email to urb-it@bath.ac.uk and I'll show you around URB's roofspace where most of our computers live - then we'll get you trained up and involved ASAP.
