The British Council and production company Folded Wing have once again teamed up with the Student Radio Association to offer six students the chance to present their own edition of The Selector.
The Selector is a weekly two-hour radio show featuring music, mixes, interviews and live sessions from some of the most exciting artists Britain has to offer. Hosted by DJ and presenter Goldierocks, the show is syndicated to over 33 countries around the world and has a global audience in excess of 3 million listeners.
The SRA Selector initiative aims to nurture the presenting and production talents of six individuals from different student radio stations across the UK. The programme is now in its third year, with previous winners Jack Saunders of Fly FM (Nottingham Trent University) and Ross Buchanan of Smoke Radio (University of Westminster) both having landed slots on the recently-launched Radio X.
This year's presenters were announced at the Student Radio Awards at the O2 in London back in November and University Radio Bath's Jamie Lee was one of the names selected to take part in the scheme.
This is the second year running that the station has hosted the show, following on from the success of fellow URB presenter Bev Lung last year.
The other presenters involved this year are: Andy Backhouse, Smoke Radio (University of Westminster); Anna Louise Walter, CSR (Canterbury University); Chris Lloyd, Rare FM (University College London); Christie Driver-Snell, LSR (University of Leeds); Jessica Campbell, Xpress Radio (Cardiff University).
In November, all six of this year's presenters took part in a two-day training event at Folded Wing's London studios and will now each host their own campus-version of The Selector radio show from January to April 2016.
You can catch the SRA Selector with Jamie Lee every Monday evening from 6pm on University Radio Bath.
