Oh what a night

On Thursday 5th November, we packed our bags and headed off to London for this year's National Student Radio Awards at Indigo O2 (supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global Radio). It's always one of our favourite nights of the year, and this year was made extra special by winning TWO SRA GOLDS for Best Technical Achievement and Best Student Chart Show, with a nomination for Best Student Station too!

Hosted by presenters Clara Amfo, Dave Berry, Matt Edmondson and Kat Shoob, the 1995 throwback-themed night celebrated the best of student radio and the talented individuals and teams up and down the country. It's safe to say we had a blast (and not just because Gold awards are accompanied by champagne)!

A cause for celebration

Jonty Usborne and Chris Couch brought home the Best Technical Achievement Award for the Visualisation Rebuild and URB Digital, reflecting the brand new rebuilt studio and visualisation suite. Our second Gold of the night was won by the SRA Chart Team when URB hosted the weekly chart show at the start of 2015. This was presented by Josh Little, and produced by Matt Reed, Claire Mallet, Jonty Usborne, Chris Couch, Gilbert Holland-Lloyd, Tommy Parker and Bev Lung.

And the good news didn't end there - URB's Jamie Lee was also announced as one of the chosen presenters for this year's British Council/Folded Wing's initiative, the SRA Selector. This means we'll be hosting the British specialist music show for 2 years in a row! Watch this space for more.

We're so proud of all the fantastic, hard-working members who work tirelessly to make great radio, and make URB the best team to be a part of.

SRA's, we'll see you next year!
