Batman Begins (Week 29)

What did you think of our more recent blockbusters?

Batman Begins (Week 29)

Was so good watching it again on the big screen, lots of cheesy lines and just truly epic:) long film though:s I'm starting to think I prefer this to The Dark Knight.

What are peoples thoughts?

I always think it's like three stories in one film, which is why it feels so long >.< buuuuut: still enjoyable :P the last time I saw this was at least two years ago so it was good to rewatch. I do find Bale as Wayne difficult to understand sometimes though, because he seems to have a tendency to speak without moving his lips properly >:|

I've seen The Dark Night many times, but never Batman Begins. Overall, it was a pretty good film but I agree with Lisey - it definitely felt like 3 films in one with a poor connection between them. Parts of it were also pretty predictable and stereotypical, but I still enjoyed it.

You'll mainly find me at Anime, but also at some of the Classic and Contemporary screenings. I'm usually in the student centre before screenings too.

Seen both this, and the Dark Knight, many many times (too many times, probably, when I can quote quite a bit....)

and I have to say... I do still prefer Batman Begins
whilst I can see how DK is the better film, I just find BB more watchable, and prefer the villains for some reason.
I like how it seems to be split into three or so parts. It breaks the film up (whereas DK is one long haul, in a way)
I also like how... it takes quite a while for him to actually become 'Batman', however, neither have I ever gotten agitated with the amount of time before he puts on the cape and cowl, because there is enough backstory, and it's interesting enough

I did rather enjoy this, much like I enjoyed Dark Knight when I eventually saw it, so I am glad I came along...

[I didn't have much choice, fear of certain small person breaking down my legs and sticking them to my head]

Story wise I prefer Batman Begins, I like how we see how he transitions into Batman. Characters wise and evil plots wise, I love Dark Knight and The Joker.

Would totally see this again, along with Dark Knight and can't wait for the next film! (The Dark Knight Rises)

Think I should clarify: despite having the 'three stories' I didn't feel like it was hashed together. There were connections between them, like overcoming fear etc, which I think added to the character of Batman. Plus I liked the way the villains introduced were 'evil' enough in their own arcs but then only a part of a bigger story in the end :)
