So after prowling the forums for the first time, and looking at the list of previous screenings, i have to say, i'm surprised that a few of my favourite films have never been shown. I was so surprised that i had to create an account and suggest them! (These suggestions are also of films i liked!)

In order of my preference

(2009) The Lovely Bones (Fantasy)
(2000) Pitch Black (Sci-fi)
(2004) Chronicles of Riddick (Sci-fi)
(2008) Dead Space: Downfall (Sci-fi Horror)
(2008) Cloverfield (Sci-fi Disaster)
(2004) Alien Vs. Predator (Sci-fi Thriller)

I strongly reccomend The Lovely Bones, strictly speaking, it has no sci-fi content and whether or not it is fantasy could be argued. I was skeptical when i saw it for the first time seeing as i stick to sci-fi / fantasy / horror, but it's a pretty good film. It's also based from a book of the same name (I haven't read it so i can't vouch for the quality of the film compared to the book).

I know Pitch Black shouldn't be in the contemporary section, but for me it's in the same film era as the rest, and it's also an indirect prequel to the Chronicles of Riddick (don't show the latter before the other!). Dead Space: Downfall is worth watching if you want to see something different and gorey, i believe it is also a prequel to a game. I have only seen half of Cloverfield but i thought it was awesome, and finally, the staple diet of a sci-fi/fantasy person should contain aliens and predators!

I've read Sebold's book, and have been meaning to watch the film version. I assume the fantasy aspect could be the whole 'watching from heaven', but that might be a little too abstract >.<
Dead Space though! DEAD SPACE! It's the best thing about being home: hours and hours of watching my sister on the PS3, complete with aliens and gloomy corridors :D even I can cut up a creature with a rotating saw ^.^ no idea what the movie form will be like O.o but I'll take it :P

I wouldn't mind seeing Avatar: The last airbender. I have all the 'books' as they're referred to.

Also Casshern and Outlander are good films as far as I'm aware....

Ah Sweedy Tod is a really good but very creepy film:) I'm not sure we can count it as sci fi/ fanatsy though:( Unless there is something about it I'm forgetting?:P

If anything it's horror/drama rather than sci-fi or fantasy.

I don't think it particularly counts as sci-fi or fantasy. Unless you're saying his barbers skills are that great?

Also we showed Inception pretty recently...

And the new Star Trek, too - I remember that getting a lot of people and it being very divisive.
