I've not had such bad service from Plug, but I do understand your frustrations!

I've often seen Yak Yeti Yak, and wondered what it's like. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to go there some time.

That first time was absolutely ridiculous. I'm curious though...why go back for pizza after the awful time on Wednesday?

I totally want to go to Yak Yeti Yak though - it's not somewhere I can drag Rob to though, which makes things difficult.

Went to Mai Thai on Pierrepont Street (the one with the police station between North Parade and the station) this evening, and it was very good. Managed to have an excellent green curry with egg fried rice, and a drink for just under £12. The décor is excellent, and the service is good (food came very quickly).

A slightly different one, which I've meant to go in for ages but never got around to, is the Tea House Emporium on New Bond Street (follow the top of the high street down, the shop is on the left after it bends around towards the podium - there is a large cast iron teapot hanging outside). Aboveground, it is an excellent specialist tea shop, well worth a look in its own right, but if you turn right once you're inside and head down the stairs, it takes you into a very nicely decorated, large basement which has a tea room! It is a nice atmosphere to just sit in there. The cakes are all home-made and very good, and the tea is amazing - I kid you not, they bring you a menu larger than most restaurants with all the types they stock (pretty much anything they have can be bought in the shop above too should you want to take some home!). It comes as loose tea in a pot with an infuser, and you even get a timer so it is brewed perfectly.

The lapsang is very nice, and I had a decent flowering white tea in there the other day: I'm told the Irish Breakfast blend is good as well. There's a very nice lady in there who knows absolutely everything there is to know about tea should you have any questions. Surprisingly, it's not too expensive: cakes are about £2, and tea ranges from just over £2 for a large pot (4 cups+) of various breakfast blends up to £4 pots for the rare-teas.

Anywhere else anybody has found that I absolutely have to go to in the next two weeks before I leave, or when I'm back in the area?

Went to Marmaris the other week. I've never been in there before -- I'm told they do good kebabs, but we had the set menu in the restaurant. It cost about £20 in total, and has a nice range of starters, a fairly standard main of various grilled meats, and choice of dessert, plus a coffee. I don't like it quite as much as Arabesque, but it's a fairly close thing.

Also tried to main menu at the Hare & Hounds, it's good. Possibly slightly better than the carvery.

Update on Hi Sushi in Soho too: they've expanded their selection on the all you can eat sushi menu. There are three more dishes, but you can only pick them once. A couple of fish dishes, and a really nice sweet tofu one. Price has gone up to £16.80 though .
