Contemporary coming up

Postby Twitchy » Sun Jan 02, 2011 5:11 pm

Our shortlist for contemporary (subject to tweaks and scheduling) is:

Futurama - Into the Wild Green Yonder
Going Postal
How To Train Your Dragon
I, Robot
Inception
Joss Whedon Night
Mockbuster night - to be voted on
Primer
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Tron Legacy
V for Vendetta

Exciting stuff. Gutted that I want to see nearly all of these but can probably only manage about half. :(
What are people most excited about?

I'll be trying to get along to these;

Futurama - Into the Wild Green Yonder
How To Train Your Dragon
Mockbuster night - to be voted on
Primer
V for Vendetta

Most excited about seeing Primer for the third time. Also interested in V for Vendetta as I really, really loved the graphic novel.

Futurama - Into the Wild Green Yonder - Maybe, depends on my mood that night.
Going Postal - Probably not going to come along.
How To Train Your Dragon - Meh.
I, Robot - A classic, that I haven't seen enough times.
Inception - Seen it twice so far, so I may or may not come and see it, depends entirely on how long it will have been since I last saw it.
Joss Whedon Night - Never heard of him, so it depends on which films you show.
Mockbuster night - to be voted on - depends on films.
Primer - Definitely going to come along, I nominated it last year and still haven't got round to seeing it.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World - Possibly. I've heard good things, but not sure if it's my kind of thing.
Tron Legacy - Depends on my mood on the night
V for Vendetta - A good film, but I was over-exposed to it last year, so probably a no for now.

I plan to attend;

Futurama - Into the Wild Green Yonder
How To Train Your Dragon
I, Robot
Inception
Mockbuster night - to be voted on
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Tron Legacy

As for the rest, it's going to depend on how well Hannah's email blurb convinces me and if i've got the time!
Former SciFi IT Officer now taking great pleasure in telling the current committee that they're doing it all wrong and that they should get off my lawn.
You'll mainly find me at Anime, but also at some of the Classic and Contemporary screenings. I'm usually in the student centre before screenings too.

The ones I'd like to go to are these:
How To Train Your Dragon
Inception
Joss Whedon Night
Mockbuster night - to be voted on
Primer
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Tron Legacy
V for Vendetta

Most likely though are at least, Joss night, Scott Pilgrim and Tron if I don't see it in the cinema first :p

Lambada - Joss Whedon is the guy responsible for Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dr Horrible etc. but he's also done scriptwriting duties on a few films that aren't Serenity, including Toy Story, bizarrely enough.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Buffy - never seen
Angel - Never seen.
Firefly, never seen.
Dr Horrible - never seen.
Serenity - saw last semester
toy Story - Duh.

Hmm.... I guess I might come along just to see what his style is, although Angel and Buffy aren't my kind of TV Shows.

I'm pretty sure you'll like Dr Horrible - I keep thinking you were at it when we screened it before but then remember you weren't at university. *headdesk*

I think exam pressure is getting to me somewhat...
