Red Dwarf Night

It was so hard choosing what to show, but I hope people were reasonably happy with what was on. In hindsight, the show has some brilliant high-sci-fi episodes as well as the regulation silliness, and I should have shoved one of those in as well.

For those new to the show - trust us, the more you watch, the more you get the in-jokes and character humour. Plus...dodgy cheap special effects ftw!

What did you make of it?

It was brilliant I haven't watched Red Dwarf in so long. People need to get out there and see more episodes.

I'd forgotten exactly how much I love Rimmer...

Definitely going to have to make an effort to watch all of them, I have a feeling we've got the box sets lurking somewhere at home so that's going to be a job for the holidays.

Quarantine was the best, because Rimmer + crazy = win.

Rimmer is such a smeghead, but you can't help thinking he's got a point some of the time. I do feel sorry for him...

haven't seen red dwarf in so long, and I'd never seen the first episode before. That was an awesome night.

my favourite episode was definitely Quarantine. The scene with Rimmer in that dress... hilarious :D

He has had a difficult upbringing, but he hasn't done a lot to help himself, either - as referenced by Ace Rimmer learning a bit of humility and being Mr Perfect, albeit with a slightly worrying liking of gold lamé...

The only clip of Red Dwarf I had seen before this is this one, so while I expected humour I wasn't sure what else to expect.

I ended up seeing humour and a lot more. I'm extremely glad I came to this and I think now i'm going to have to obtain the DVDs some how! I loved all the small parodies of things they managed to fit in.

That is very tempting. I might borrow those to watch over Christmas, i'll ask in a couple of weeks time - don't want to be distracted too much at the moment!
