Wow, really digging the line-up! Looking forward to seeing Lost Universe and the Miyazaki films, and re-watching Spice and Wolf!

I have tried getting past the first 2 or 3 episodes of Utawarerumono a few times now, but they never managed to catch any interest. I'll give it another try at the screenings, though. :D

But Slayers being one of my all-time faves, I'm REALLY looking forward to Lost Universe (which, I'm ashamed to say, I've never seen).

Are the two connected? I've seen some Slayers at uni, was good fun :D

I'm told Utawarerumono gets much better :D after the first few episodes.

The first few episodes are a little slow, but it soon picks up the pace.

We should get through 10 episodes on the first night (and 8 a night on the following 2 weeks, it's how the DVDs are organised) so after the first screening you should be very much into the story and will be able to decide if you want to see it for the following two weeks. Utawarerumono has one of the biggest twists ever towards the end and i'm not going to say any more on that matter!

Yes! Lost Universe takes place in the same world as Slayers, or something. The novels they're based on were written by the same author.

Also, seeing both of your posts kinda makes me look forward to Utaware now. :D

Slight correction, might not show 10 episodes in Part 1 as we'll finish really late. 9 + 9 + 8 might be a better format.

Hehe, the shortening of the name has begun. For fun, try attempting to pronounce it.

I think I can pronounce it, poke me next time I'm around and i'll say it.

Also I'll be going to a disturbing amount of anime this year it seems...

We'll definitely have to start separate threads for each series to avoid spoilerage and have room for all PureFerret's commenting, then!
