Favourite contemporary screenings?

Postby Twitchy » Sun Jan 10, 2010 9:48 pm

In a desperate bid to inject life onto this board (and provide a source of procrastination...) what are everyone's favourite three 'contemporary' screenings from the last semester? Was any film a bit of a disappointment? My top 3 were:

1) Children of Men
2) Dogma
3) Star Trek

1. Children of Men
2. Futurama
3. Coraline

The only 3 I went to :P. I think I still live in the early 90s.

Just realised, screenings page says we showed Stardust two years in a row....can we do that? :o

Nope, just an error in the film list that was written up. It should be WALL-E for the third week in semester 1 of this year.

No worries, the plots are fairly similar so it's not big deal. :P

Oh, and congrats on losing your spoon!

By Gum your right! They are similar plots.

Woman comes along. Woman disappears. Man finds woman. Hi-jinks ensue. Happy ending.

I'm starting to see more parallels the more I think about it now...
Flying ships which the main characters get thrown out of - but it's ok, it's not really them/they can survive in space.
A plot device which no one has any knowledge of.
...
er...
One of those robots looks slightly like a goat?

Being a long way from home!

I don't get the goats reference though.
