My knowledge of trains consists of 'get the internet to do it for me', what's the general plan for them? Looks like a standard off peak return is about £15.90, although when we went to Bristol there was a 'group ticket' option which was much cheaper? I have no clue. But I'd like to get the ticket in advance to save faffing about with the machines on the day.

Essentially, we're hoping to be going for the group ticket option which reduces the prices to around 7-8 pounds each. I'm not sure you can get those in advance though, so it's up to you. However, this 'groupsave' option isn't available is there is, say, a big rugby game going on or something big enough to warrant them cancelling the deal. I'm at the station tomorrow morning so will look into it then. Otherwise, yes - it's about 10 pounds with a railcard and 15 pounds or so without. I'll confirm with you tomorrow afternoon. :)

Righto, group ticket sounds like a good option in that case (especially due to lack of rail card).

Whilst that's cool as an idea Craig, it'll probably be easier to do it via email as not everyone's on the forums. That, and I predict the majority will want to travel by groupsave (if we can) because it's cheaper than a railcard ticket! It's knowing those who'd rather have an individual ticket that's more important...

Ok, but we need to make sure everyone knows everyone else who needs group save, and email isn't always the best way to discuss these things, people don't click 'Reply to All'.

What we really need is a list of the people coming and we don't have that yet. We can probably sort it by email then, I guess?

Sorry, should have been more specific:

When people have signed up, I'll make sure I've got their contact numbers, but will also email to work out if they need a groupsave ticket and make them aware that they exist and why they're awesome. However, since tickets will be purchased on the day, those who turn up on time and want a ticket will get one. We'll divide into groups of 3s and 4s to make it cheap for everyone. Latecomers...it's your own fault if you miss the boat as far as getting in a group for tickets is concerned!

I meant people who turn up to the station late and make us miss (or nearly miss!) the train. :P
As long as you sign up before the sign-up closes, all is fine. Note to self: Book bowling.

Seriously guys - we'll state a time that's the absolute latest you should arrive to guarantee getting on a groupsave.
