Being human!

So, as only a neophyte I've just watch the pilot and episode one for Being Human's first season, it looks pretty awesome.

I'm not sure what we can discuss without spoiling people, but the floor is open! Excited about being able to catchup after exams.

Missed yesterdays... Very sad about it. I'll have to do some extended iPlayering after exams.

Saying that, I *still* haven't seen the last episode of last series, so hopefully somebody's Youtubed it or similar.

Indeed! I'm looking at the iPlayer tab on my taskbar with barely-restrained lust right now.

Must...finish...job application...

It was a great series-opener. Second series was a bit all over the shop, so it was good to see a return to form.

Excellent guest cast too - Rhys off Torchwood! Paul Kaye off of everything! Lacey Turner was pretty darn good as well - shows why she always gets the Best Actress gong at the soap awards.

Laugh-out-loud moments, and some really moving moments, too.

The second episode looks decidedly dodgy, though. I really hope it's not.

(Trying to be brief and avoid spoilers - maybe leave this as a spoiler free topic, and have a new one for 'At BBC3 speed'?)

'At Warp BBC3' sounds good, I'll stay clear of it though!

Looking forward to watching all this after exams. Is mitchells non-burny death at sunlight ever explained?

BH vampires don't get deaded by sunlight, but they're sensitive to it, hence the sunglasses.

As far as I know they do the no-reflections (including recorded images), blood-thirst, stake-death and blood-revivification, but none of the other traditional vampire things.

Wait, did holy symbols work? I can't recall.

And that's it? I guess the show doesn't work otherwise....

Also Invite at the door is a nice touch!

Holy symbols are a bit of a wibbly one, like George's Star of David doesn't affect Mitchell but does affect other vampires, and I think it also depends on the vampire:holy symbol ratio.

I think the star of david thing is really interesting. I've heard in some fiction, vampires are more effected the more they associate with the Symbol...i.e. if they think a cross will do something to them, it does. If Mitchell doesn't think it'll have an effect then...it doesn't! It's all in his head! :D

Invite at the door is a nice touch!

Season one, ep 5! Hector (?) can't come in but still does something across the threshold...and Lauren (?) can't come in until Mitchell invites her...

Herrick!!! Oh deary me.

Don't tell me you're that far in already?

They do keep the door invite thing, but yeah - he couldn't physically stand in the property, but could lean across...

Yeah I am that far ahead! Probably not the best time to be trying to catch up. Personally I blame holly =p
