The LGBT is the support group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans students at the University of Bath. We are officially part of the Students' Union (Bath SU) and represent L, G, B & T students in both the Union and the University.
We are happy for members to be as involved, or not, as they want. Many of our members solely attend meetings, others just a few socials and a few come along to just about everything. Whatever you want to do is fine!
You can sign up to our confidential mailing list by clicking 'Email Sign Up' in the bar above. As a support group we are free, so anyone can come along! Other details about our group can also be found here or at the link above. You can contact the chairs directly at email@example.com.
We feel that the best way to support you is to help put you in touch with people who are like yourself. To this end, we hold weekly meetings, every Thursday at 7pm, in a room to be confirmed at the start of the semester. These meetings are great for getting to know people and also bringing up some topical issues. If you would like a more one to one approach, we also run a confidential email service, to give advice and information to any students who feel they need support. Feel free to email the society or to email one of our committee members directly, details are on the committee pages here.
If you have any questions, need some advice, or just want a chat, we can always be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We do our best to keep up an active social schedule for our members. Our regular socials involve a trek down to town after each meeting to one of the gay pubs/clubs for drinks, Sunday roasts and monthly film nights. In addition, we organise LGBT Cafe events, a bookclub, socials with other local LGBT groups, and other less frequent events, such as ice-skating and bowling. As well as all this, you can expect bar crawls around Bristol's gay bars, and trips to other cities with big gay scenes.
Although we are here to support LGBT students, we know how important it is to get involved on a national and local level in equality issues that really count, too. Check out our campaigns page for details of our current activities!
