Lifesaving Sport And Competitions

Finally Finished
Lifesaving is not just about learning skills meeting people and having fun! It is also a large mult-‐disciplinary sport with university, British and World Leagues.
As part of the club you have the opportunity to compete in a range of competitions around the UK at different universities and clubs. Each competition is split into a wide range of events testing your skills, speed, fitness and knowledge. All the competitions are team based so there is always a good team atmosphere supporting the competitors. For those of you who aren’t so keen on the competing side simply come along and support, take part as a causality actor or just come to the social!

Quick Responce
An average BULSCA (British University Lifesaving Clubs Association) competition consists of a two SERCS (simulated rescues) one each on land and water. This is then followed by a 50m/50m swim and tow and a number of ‘speed’ events such as(with a lifesaving twist!) and a few other a rope through relay, a swimming medley interesting races…
Once each competition is over there is always the opportunity for a great party, which is hosted by the home university. These are great fun and offer plenty of opportunities for meeting other competitors and dressing up (if you want)! Some themes have included James Bond, Toga, Hawaiian and many more including fun events and special games. (Our social last year put on a mini Casino, so expect the unexpected!)
