Introduction

A graphic equaliser which Backstage has recently brought for use in our front of house rack. Graphic equalisers split the sound into groups of frequencies which can be individually altered in volume to give the desired sound. The Yamaha graphic recieves a 2-channel mix from the K1 desk and outputs to the amplifiers for the front of house speakers.

Whilst the moniter graphics are usually used to remove specific frequencies that are feeding back, the Yamaha graphic is designed to tailor the sound for each venue. This is important since the shape of a location, the items inside it and the number of people can all drastically affect the sound and so a graphic equaliser is required to get the best from any performance.
