Introduction

This Behringer compressor is extremely flexible with a large number of controls but unfortunately has only 2-channels so Backstage recently brought the 4-channel Behringer MDX4400. The MDX2100 has a large LED display showing the signal level and quantity of compression that is being performed. It is used with the K1 desk with an insert and therefore is used in dual mono mode but can also operate in stereo.

Both channels have independent controls for a basic gate, threshold, compression ratio, attack time, release time and output level. An interesting control is the auto switch, which disables the attack and release controls, automatically controlling them by analyising the input signal.
