This Minidisc recorder is made by Denon and is an extremely effective machine, being used with bands and shows for both recording and playing MDs. As with most Minidisc recorders, this machine can record in mono or stereo as well as being able to divide, combine, move, erase, and name tracks.
Most of the detailed editing features can only be accessed using the remote control so if you really need to do a heavy recording session, get the remote off the BTS equipment officer first. When recording sound effects for a show, make sure you name every track and divide each effect with a good 10 seconds of silence to prevent yourself playing the next sound effect at the wrong time!
Things you need to look out for
Pressing the record button doesn't directly start recording, it pauses the recording process, showing you the input signal on the LEDs across the bottom of the display. Use this to set the correct gain on the recorder and then press play to start reording.
