  • Kaos Design Ltd. - Kaos designs' guide to planning a safe event
  • www.ladder-safety.com - As the name suggests a site about how to use ladders safely, they also sell a wide range of ladders and scaffolding towers.
  • H.S.E. books - Sells all H.S.E. publications and provides free copies of several leaflets.
  • British Standards Online - A source of all British Standards, if you are a student you can get access to them for free via the Athens service.
  • Grogano Animated knots - Some really good animations showing how to tie common knots.

  • Essential information on working at height - A guide to working at height,covering ladders, scaffolding and, less relevantly, working on a roof.
  • First aid at work - A "your questions answered" sheet on first aid at work. On the University of Bath's Claverton Down campus trained first aiders in the form of security are always present.
  • Guide to Electrical Switchgear - A brief introduction to safety procedures for switchgear ranging from 400V three phase up to 33kV
  • Guide to L.O.L.E.R. - A leaflet giving a simple guide to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations.
  • Guide to P.U.W.E.R. - A leaflet giving a simple guide to the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
  • Inspecting webbing & rope P.P.E. - Useful infromation, including how to identify damage.
  • Leaflets on risk assessment - Two H.S.E. leaflets on how to conduct a risk assessment
  • Management of weapons in productions - An H.S.E. information sheet on the use of Firearms and weapons in productions, largely aimed at TV and film but still relevant
  • Manual handling - A simple guide to manual handling
  • Safe working with flammable liquids - Particularly relevant to set construction but good guidance for general use
  • Scaffolding Towers - An information sheet for the construction industry on scaffolding towers
  • Simple Electrical safety - A very simple guide to electrical safety, single phase only
