Lighting Guide - MAC 600

Introduction

Manufactured by Martin Professional, the MAC600 is an 'Intelligent Washlight'. MAC's are nice and easy to set up because they've got a little LED display and menu that allow you to set the DMX address settings - so no more DIP switches and binary conversions to contend with!
There are two colour wheels in the MAC600 for all kinds of colours, plus there is a strobe mode and dimming via shutters. The lamp uses xx DMX channels. Colours can be mixed using a CMY colour model to obtain any colour in the visible spectrum.

Things you need to look out for

Watch out for the Martin DMX phase reversal trick - it's just possible that the MAC's DMX phase lines will be the reverse of the normal arrangement and so if the lamp isn't talking to you, it might be because of this.
Also, if the lamp has been on for a while, it may overheat and shut itself down. If the power goes during a performance, the MACs will not restrike until they have cooled down sufficiently.
