Lighting Guide - Masterpiece 108

Introduction

The Pulsar Masterpiece m108 is one of BTS's flightcased touring desks. The Masterpiece is ideally suited to rock lighting, the touch sensitive pads make it very easy to change states etc. However, the Masterpiece is not the easiest desk to learn, although once you have you'll never understand what the whingers who can't do it are on about.

It hasthe ability to output 108 channels in PMX, along with a 256 channels in a DMX patch DMX and analogue outputs. It can be a master or a slave to another desk, and has facility for sound to light and bass triggering control. The chases can be stepped manually in both directions or run on auto where there are additional controls for chase speed and chase slope. The Masterpiece can run scanners, but is best suited to those scanners that require a smaller number of control channels.

Things you need to look out for

Static. The silver panels on the Masterpiece control surface are touch sensitive - but can be triggered by shirt sleeves, elbows etc. If your performance goes screwy, make sure that there are no more channels on than should be!
