Project :

Completely new railway and metro interchange for the city of Stuttgart in Germany. The project creates an underground sculptural shell used as an oval departure lounge, with glazed lenses used for natural lighting and turns the old terminus into a through station, increasing its use and the flow of people in and around the city.

My Role :

  • Meshing of measured point-cloud
  • Shell form-finding
  • Create software to map geometry onto terrain
  • Create software to create volumetric model from surface to minimise stresses
  • Shell and 3D brick Finite Element Analysis
