Name:
Dr Marcelle McManus
Department:
Dept of Mechanical Engineering
Job Title:
Research Fellow
Research Interests:
My current research activities and interests
include investigating the life cycle environmental impact of micro renewable
energy technologies and their ability to meet the CO2 reduction
targets of the UK
as part of the SuperGen Highly Distributed Power
Systems research project. The
project is a collaboration between several UK
Universities and industrial partners. The section of the project I am
responsible for aims to establish the best mix for future energy production in
the UK
based on the life cycle impact of different micro systems (wind, CHP, PV, solar
thermal, heat pumps etc.).
I also have a detailed knowledge and interest in
the environmental impact of food transportation and production, bioenergy and sustainable procurement.
