Dr. Michele Meo’s primary research interests are NDT and structural health monitoring of metallic and composite structures; damage growth modelling in nano/macro materials, impact, blast and crashworthiness and smart materials and structures. Specific topics of interest include · the development of nonlinear acoustic/ultrasound methodologies to detect damage in aerospace and civil structures · novel materials for improved impact properties · intelligent materials with multifunctional properties · finite element/meshless methods for linear and non-linear structural problems, applied both to aircraft and civil structures with special emphasis on impact, blast and crashworthiness of composite structures. |
