Senior Lecturer in Statistics

Current research interests

Markov chain Monte Carlo methods, particularly with applications in image analysis, Bayesian mixture modelling, and Bayesian methodology. Some of the people outside Bath with whom I've worked on these topics are: Nial Friel (Dublin), Peter Green (Bristol), Fahima Al-Awadhi (Kuwait), Scott Sisson (Sydney), Havard Rue (Trondheim) and Christian Robert (Paris), For more details of my research in these areas, and other research work of the statistics group in Bath, see the statistics group's research page.

I would be interested in taking on research students in the areas of Bayesian statistics and/or Markov chain Monte Carlo. Previous students: Fahima Al-Awadhi (2001), Eman Khorsheed (2007), Gundula Behrens (2008), Elisa Loza-Reyes (2010). Current student: Kuntalee Chaisee.
