As a confused child, before I was a confused adult, the relationship
between which and witch was just another of the problems
of growing up. Since then I have learned to pronounce the aspirate
and so my spelling improves, but not my confusions. On the other hand
my wife thought that witches lived in Hitchen due to a misunderstood
conversation on a train journey. We have avoided Hitchen ever since.
